True North Accounting

WEBSITE DESIGN

Opportunity

True North Accounting isn't like other accountants, they're actually really fun. Specializing in supporting small businesses in Calgary and Okotoks, they needed a full suite of digital and print assets to reflect their new brand in an engaging way for a typically complex and confusing industry.

Approach

Website design and customer experience

To make True North Accounting's customers really feel like they weren't lost in the woods, we needed to enter the woods ourselves. Starting with a website redesign and brand refresh, we identified major road blocks along the customer's journey from starting a business to filing taxes.

Brand evolution and creative

Inspired by True North Accounting's woodsy theme, we carried this throughout the website with topographic maps, misty textures and mountainous graphics.

Iconography, infographics and print collateral

To help True North Accounting's customers understand different aspects of owning a business, we developed a series of infographics and ebooks they can download online and keep for future reference. We also designed a custom set of icons to help customers easily identify important information and reinforce True North Accounting's brand.

Solution

HAWK Design and Creative worked with True North Accounting to develop a holistic brand evolution across their digital and print media. The brand evolution was rooted in True North Accounting's position as survival guides for Calgary and Okotok's vibrant small business community. It's a fresh take on an old industry that resonates with the modern day entrepreneur. The trail map approach helps strengthen True North Accounting's brand recognition and uses heuristics to help simplify complex information in a way that is familiar to most Southern Albertans, hitting the trails in the Rocky Mountains.
