Tourism Radium

WEBSITE DESIGN

Radium Hot Springs is an idyllic mountain town nestled between the towering peaks of the Canadian Rockies and Purcell Mountains. Home to the largest hot springs pool facility in the Canadian Rockies Tourism Radium is a prime destination for tourists exploring Western Canada. We had the opportunity to work with Tourism Radium on the redesign of their website, a one-stop shop for everything you need to experience the warmer side of the Rockies.

Approach

“The Warm Side of the Rockies”

With a warmer climate and friendly atmosphere, Radium Hot Springs is literally the warmer side of the Rockies. We designed the new site to look and feel warm and inviting, with authentic photography and plenty of pages to explore. Copywriting and calls to action speak directly to the user, with approachable language and clear headings.

Brand Refresh

The village of Radium Hot Springs was ready for a new website, but they weren’t necessarily ready for a whole new brand. It was important that we elevated the Radium Hot Springs brand through this website redesign, while still being true to the experience of being in the village itself. We designed a fresh version of the Tourism Radium and Radium Hot Springs logos as part of this project, keeping close to the look and feel of the existing logo but with a new do.

We also introduced a fresh colour palette as part of the brand refresh, brightening up the Radium purple with new shades of yellow and teal. We drew colour inspiration from the land, warm hoodoos and sunsets. We explored themes of nostalgia through the brand process, memories of family vacations and long weekend trips into the mountains.

Things to Do

The Radium site is designed to showcase all there is to see and do in around the village, attracting tourists from B.C. and Alberta. We designed pages for activities and itineraries, making it easy for visitors to plan their future trip to the village. Activity pages are packed with helpful information including trail maps and links to local service providers. Whether you’re interested in finding mountain biking trails or local golf courses, you will find it on this site. We organized less important content into accordions, and designed tiles to help organize information throughout the site. The team at the Tourism Radium Visitor Centre were super fun and collaborative, filling the site with lots of great information.

A Local Business Directory

The Tourism Radium website is also a local business directory, with listings for accommodations and other local services. Users can sort and filter places to stay, making it easy to connect with hotels and campgrounds and everything in between. Service providers are promoted throughout the site, connecting visitors to everything from gear rentals to restaurants.

Stories

The Tourism Radium blog is designed to connect local stories to the Things to Do pages. Whether you come to read the blog or discover things to do, you’ll find a mix of information and storytelling, helping to create an authentic experience for users travelling from the site to the village itself.

Solution

We partnered with Tourism Radium on a really meaningful and fun web redesign, building a one-stop website for everything you need to play, soak and stay on the warm side of the Rockies. The site compels visitors with rich content, from things to do to everything you need to plan your trip. The site also serves as a full business directory, connecting users with accommodations and other service providers. The Radium blog helps to integrate authentic storytelling throughout the site, and the link to local businesses makes it easy to collaborate on events and other promotions.
