With the cycle track extension heading west on 12th Avenue out of downtown, we saw an opportunity to make new cyclists feel more welcome.
Approach
A history in the Beltline
We designed these racks based on very real grain elevators. Calgary’s Beltline was named for the train line that used to bring grain into the city. Back then, these grain elevators were a bright light across a sprawling land, checkpoints on the journey west. Today, many of the old elevators have already been torn down, so this is our ode to one little part of our shared history.
