Deliverable: User Experience, Web Design, Graphic Design

Agency: Reality Engine

Designer: A.Kelle

Year: 2015

AlbertaIN is an online directory designed to help startups connect with investors and other resources. A project realized through Innovate Calgary, the directory is made by Albertans for Albertans.

My role on this was that of UX / Graphic designer, during my time working at Reality Engine. The 'directory' page is where it's at - each resource has its own tile, and the tiles flip around based on user-selection. Users can filter by phase, service and industry. It's like online dating for Alberta businesses.

The directory page in tile-view. Each organization in the directory is represented by a tile. Development phase is represented by a color-coded scale, with the logo and brief description appearing in the white container. Each tile offers the option to click-through to a corresponding business profile page. As the user filters by phase, services and industry, the tiles move around. The little blue toggles allow the user flip between map and tile-view, as well as to sort alphabetically.

The toggles on the directory page let the user flip between a grid-view and a map-view. In the map view, the blue pins show up depending on user input. Here too, the user can filter and search by phase, services and industry.
